Not sure if it makes a difference which crank you have, I did go with a used LLY crank that was mag tested in my LMM though. But a broken crank will have a vibration. Not sure about Duramax, but BBC should have forward thrust load applied to the crank flange (say 100 lbs) with 1/2 thrust load (say 50 lbs) applied rearward to the main thrust cap prior to and during initial tightening of the main thrust cap fasteners. I doubt the crank is broken. You would still have oil pressure. If you have a scanner pull up the cam and crank sensor/signal and see if you’re getting a reading. If you’ve got a broken crank and you lose those readings, it can cause a no start. actual fuel pressure reads like 5psi while cranking.
