at first i thought it was a hissing sound from the engine bay, come to find out, it was a really really light grinding sound under the truck. supposedly the front hubs were trying to engage into 4wd while being in 2wd due to a crappy vacuum. thats how i found out it was the IWE solenoid. in 2wd it holds the hubs out of locking into 4wd until you activate the selector switch. then releases.
