Generally, element will do more damage. However, element also tends to mean riskier play, as you almost always want to run dereliction. Raw is safer, but that also means longer hunts. The one thing that seems to break this rule for the most part is rapid fire pierce 2 lbg with vigil kugel as the weapon of choice.Pierce 1, 2 & 3 - multiple hits on all parts it passes through. Always have some with you. Make great damage by aiming head→tail, tail→head or wing→wing. Pierce 1 is good for small monsters and sniping parts (heads for example). I'd argue that the comfort and mobility of LBG makes up for the small damage difference between the two, especially in singleplayer hunts.

I'm of the opinion that Wyvern Counter is the best thing in the entire kit of any LBG build. The damage uptime you get while using it (and it allowing you near 100% MM uptime) is just exceptional. Fanning maneuver is neat but imo harder to use efficiently/less reliable than Wyvern Counter, and isn't as good even if used perfectlyBasically the title. I dont see any big benefits for LBG, especially for elemental pierce builds. Dereliction / Dragon Conversion charms are likely better than AB / Spare Shot ones, freeing an armor piece from that. World LBG are great if you played the correct ammo type/build, but they are mostly overshadowed by HBG. Elemental LBG are also better than HBG in World in most cases. 3.
