I received the transfer notice on March 16. Our I-485 got transferred from Nebraska to NBC. After receiving the notice I called Usics and they said that it’s there, the next day called again and they said it’s with our local office - Newark.. In general, the I485 has to be routed to the local field office for an eventual interview. This goes through NBC . As to if it is getting closer, I would say yes, but of course that is dependent on how backed up your local field office is.

Something weird happened today. My wife's 485 status changed from case was transferred to NBC back to the older status of "Case was updated to show Fingerprints were taken". There is still the history of case having been transferred to NBC. Both my case and my son's case remain in Case transferred to a new office status.
