When you get in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear you can give it gas but it will not speed up right away, it will start speeding up slowly and once it gets enough speed it runs fine, or until you change to the next gear. On mine it is green. Get a multimeter, set it to test continuity, and ground one probe. Put the other one on the neutral wire, and when the machine is in neutral it should have continuity with the engine block. If it doesn't the switch is stuck open. It's probably the spring loaded gear selector fork under the shifter assy behind the rear head. it's VERY easy for one side of that spring mechanism to fall off when assembling. this way you don't get a full throw when putting it in gear with the hand shifter.
