Honestly, if I were to give a recommendation for Weapons in nioh 2...I'll say tonfa and odachi. Tonfa for massive ki damage and multiple hits, odachi for crow control and hit and run tactics. I main katana both in nioh 1 and 2, katanas are insanely cool, overwhelming and stylish once you figure them out. But it takes a long, long time.
